It's an easy-to-read, confidence-giving book which I've read most of ( bad grammar there lol but I mean up to where I'm 'at' with my systematic review) and have referred back to when I've reached the "OMG!It provides detailed information in accessible language presented in bite-sized chunks and thus can be used as a staged guide throughout the process. It is set out with a seperate chapter for each step with helpful suggestions of how and when to do each section.

With a friendly, accessible style, the book covers every step of the systematic review process, from planning to dissemination.

User friendly, logical and well structured, the book holds the hand of the reader through each step of conducting a systematic reviews. I sometimes found that this bok lacked some depth so I used it in conjunction with "Systematic Approaches to a Successful literature review" which has a more formal way to it but explains things in more depth.

I have completed my SR now and it passed with a very high grading and I know that I would not have achieved this had I not had this book as a resource. Rumona Dickson has been involved in the conduct of systematic reviews in health care for over 20 years and has been the Director of LRiG since 2001. There were dark times when i got stuck and felt like giving up, but a quick look at this book usually got me back on track. Although it is more suitable for quantitative studies, it has still applied to my qualitative-based systematic review, so I would recommend it to anyone, no matter their background.

SR methodology is a dry topic, but the style of writing in this book is engaging and accessible and the text is illustrated with real examples that bring the whole topic alive. The text provides step-by-step guidance through the systematic review, providing strategies for success, with tables and process descriptions that are extremely useful.
