About this deal

When selecting the pre-drilled holes, Playseat made sure that all common manufacturers (Logitech, Thrustmaster, Fanatec) are supported and that many different pedal sets are compatible out of the box and can be mounted directly thanks to the slotted holes on the pedal bracket.

I have high expectations for the build quality of Logitech gear, but seeing as this is a Playseat creation with the Logitech logo and styling slapped on it, I wasn't sure what to expect. Sim rigs are the basic framework of every setup and form the connection between the driver and the periphery. The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network. Even though the overall seat feel is not quite as good as a real sports seat, Playseat has achieved a good compromise between seat comfort, stability and weight. The unique frameless seat performs well under pressure and delivered a comfortable drive to the chequered flag with enough adjustment points to fit racers of all sizes. This rig fills a gap in the market for those of us who want a sturdy and future proof rig for DDs and Loadcells but do not have a dedicated space to place it. The pedal and steering plates feature unique movement to accommodate a wide variety of racing styles.

There were a few people concerned about the height of the wheel like I was as the Challenge wheel is quite high up. However, I cannot find any reviews online and am not even sure when exactly it will be available for purchase in the US.

I can understand why, and that same rigidity is a positive for performance, but for more casual console users it’s more awkward as a result. Though the chair is more like a hammock, in actual fact, due to how it's strapped on around the rear of the cockpit.

Both the angle of the seat and wheel deck can be tweaked, with the wheel deck also able to be installed 180 degrees to extend the reach. The next step is to pull the seat cover over the frame and secure it with a total of 10 Velcro fasteners. In practical use, the Trophy Sim Racing Cockpit from Playseat comes surprisingly close to a solid rig made of aluminium profiles in this respect.I’ve used entry-level wheel frames in the past and they always find a way to break the immersion by shifting under you at the wrong time, that wasn’t the case here though. This is a high-quality, high-performance racing seat capable of handling the rigours of even the most powerful direct-drive steering wheels. Thanks to the tools provided, you don’t need any other tools, nor is a second person necessary at any point. The full cockpit experience is, as I've said, a luxury, and if it's a luxury you can afford then I recommend you check out the Playseat Trophy. In practice, however, these are so slight that in the test even the 18 Newton-metre strong Forte Wheelbase from Asetek could be operated without problems in conjunction with hydraulic pedals.
