In the final version of the film, the theory is debunked, and Scourge is a new and his own character. His design differs from his original Generation 1 counterpart but is similar to his counterpart in the 2001 Robots in Disguise anime.

Released as part of a Rise of the Beasts-themed batch of the Pop! Movies segment, Funko's Pop! Scourge is a super deformed vinyl figure molded in an "intimidating" pose. Most of these RotB figures seem targeted at the younger tykes, rather than older collectors. I suppose that's where a lot of the money is. But as with Earthspark, I just don't see much (if anything) in the movie line that motivates me to buy. Ah well. The original Scourge from Transformers: The Movie (1986) where Unicron created an army of Sweeps embracing this Cybertronian Hovercraft design.

Scourge face mask that matches the Terrorcons logo, is also a reference to Tarn, the leader of the Decepticon Justice Division who has a Decepticon Face Mask. As his body sunk into the lava, Prime forcefully removed Bumblebee's stolen Autobot insignia from his frame. Scourge's efforts failed as the key and tower were destroyed, with his remains pulled into the collapsing portal. Scourge is the main antagonist of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. He was the leader of the Terrorcons and the most fearsome trophy hunter in the universe. He is a ruthless, cunning, treacherous, cruel, and incredibly powerful player that should be avoided at any cost. He commands the Terrorcons on the mission of destruction they have carried out for thousands of years across thousands of worlds, leaving nothing but chaos and ruin in their wake.

Found him at a Meijer in Michigan, actually the same one I first found Studio Series wave 1 in all those years ago! The others from the same class were there (Bee, Barricade), but none of the larger Energon Igniters like ROTF Megatron and Orange Ironhide/Battletrap.
