Originally released in 1979, the R/C Sand Scorcher was greatly received from fans around the world with its humorous form and superb mechanism. Since the Sand Scorcher and the Buggy Champ use the same chassis, the spare parts are interchangeable.

I'm determined to use this SS as a runner - this is why my folks bought it for me, so I want to honour that! But I want to preserve the shell so have bought a rere shell that i'll paint and will use that for running.

WHEEL/TYRE SETS

polished the servo/battery box with Meguiars plastic polish as well as the remaining window glass - worked a treat though the windows are still very yellow - but shows it's age! Cleaned the shell, touched in some of the paint, lacquered, wet sanded and polished before waxing. I wanted to keep the "patina" - warts and all! The Tamiya Sand Scorcher from our great range of radio controlled buggies, was reintroduced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the original Sand Scorcher with an improved re-release of the radio control car model. This is one of a great range of rc cars that are available both online and in store. Ball diff. I understand this will help improve handling, but that about all I know. How on earth do you fit it and where can the parts be found? I'd really like to fit it, but I'm a little lost on this one at the moment so any insight here would be great.

Sealed gearbox is made with die-cast and clear plastic parts and has built-in motor and gears, featuring superb protection against dust. This 2010 version Sand Scorcher has been carefully updated while maintaining the original features of the chassis such as the unique front double trailing arms and rear torsion suspension. R/C fans hearts will definitely race when they see the classic VW Beetle shape and relive the dynamic performance of this machine.Still a couple of bits to do - I need to make a sunroof, and will fit the exhaust from the rere bodyshell I have. This model realistically reproduces the unique form of the buggy which was seen at the one-make race at "Baja 1000" in California, USA. Keeping true to the basic layout of the original while incorporating many refined parts, this re-released version of the Sand Scorcher will remind you of the original. Also I would be interested in Alloy rims for her, can someone point me in the right directions as to where to find these? I'm hoping to be able to tap into the strong following for the brand here in Hong Kong, so I hope I can find most items locally.
