Unlike in the previous Card-Jitsu games, penguins did not fight each other. Instead, they raced each other, jumping from tile to tile, to hit the gong before anyone else, using cards to clear the elemental obstacles in their way and/or to sabotage the other players, without falling off the edge of the waterfall. If your opponent beats you by a 2 card deficit with the same element, he will play the next card the same element also, so you will cut his/her win with a counter card. Ex. He/she has played 2 snow cards, he/she will play another snow to secure the win, so you will play fire to counter it. The regular card "WATER PARTY" and power card "SUMMER PARTY" cards from set 1 had swapped artwork. In real-life cards, WATER PARTY has a penguin going down a water slide while SUMMER PARTY has a penguin with an Inflatable Whale. In-game, this is reversed. This counter is similar to the Basic Counter, but instead the same elemental type of card as the card the opponent is likely to use is used. This counter is more risky than the Basic Counter, as the player may use a variation of the trident counter and not use one of the cards that will lose to the card that is Mirror Countering, but is less likely to be anticipated. It is used more often than the basic counter at the medium or advanced level of play. The most common combination is a green water card with the value of 2, which is used by 17 different cards. [1]
During the Underwater Expedition, the whole hideout, along with the rest of the island, was tilted to the left. In the future, there is a possibility of us removing the original Card-Jitsu in favor of League’s gameplay mechanics if enough players request that they want the ability to be able to test out new strategies and metas without the fear of losing Belts. For clothing items, if the comment was made if the player wore the item, this is denoted by "(wear)" after the name. For comments made if an item was merely owned, this is denoted by "(own)". With League and Card-Jitsu, we plan on adding new game mechanics and updates that will require Act Resets to follow up. These updates are cumulative and will be deployed at the end of each Act. Due to this, certain playstyles, metas, and strategies can shift, drastically impacting the skill and ability of players. Board games were created for Card-Jitsu Fire too. Player 1 plays a high snow, as Player 2 will most likely be expecting a Water. Player 1 plays another snow, as most Players don't play the same element two times in a row. Player 2 will be expecting yet another snow, so Player 1 plays a high Fire. Player 2 will expect either a snow or Water to win, so Player 1 plays another Fire to counter the snow Player 2 will play. Player 1 wins with 3 Fire and 2 snow.
