About this deal

The two speak for a bit, introducing themselves, and watch as various other students come in, including the boy from the bus.

Even diehard fans of the series don’t tend to have a lot to say about the first arc, other than that it introduces the school’s hierarchical system while hinting at the protagonist Ayanokouji’s troubled past. He doesn't think further about the matter and takes the exam the same way he answered the entrance exam. One student, Yōsuke Hirata, speaks up to the class and proposes that everyone do introductions, while also introducing himself to the class. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka has landed at the bottom in the scorned Class D, where he meets Horikita Suzune, who's determined to rise up the ladder to Class A. She immediately confronts him asking if he heard anything she was saying, which Kiyotaka doesn't deny.

Advanced Nurturing High School, a leading prestigious school with state-of-the-art facilities where nearly 100% of students go on to university or find employment. Kushida explains that she is looking to learn more about Horikita, who had been refusing to become acquainted with her. After a while of talking, the conversation shifts to stopping the poor behaviours that lost the class points in the first place. While it's a bit slow to start when it comes to establishing its stakes and a stable of likable characters, once it starts getting into the arguably cruel systemic challenges the school pits against these characters, the whole thing becomes a satisfying battle of wits and cooperation. A week before the midterm exams begin, Kiyotaka and Horikita begin brainstorming on how to get the Idiot Trio to study for the midterms once again.

He states that the student council is looking for new students to fill the openings from the new school year and that only exceptional students will be considered for the spots. He asks her about whether or not she believes society is fair, to which she states that she believes that it isn't. It’s enough to make you wonder at first why Ayanokouji, who is clearly much more intelligent than they are, hangs out with them. Kiyotaka asks Kushida to take credit for the idea to get old test versions and asks her to hand out copies of the old midterm to the class on the day before the midterm, to which she agrees after raising suspicions about Kiyotaka's capabilities. I look forward to reading the next volume and continuing the adventures of Class D on their road to the top.But as at that point it is just a seeming slice-of-life at a crazy school that gave their students 100,000 yen allowance I didn't mind it so much. With over 6 million of the world’s best eBooks to choose from, Kobo offers you a whole world of reading.

Ike and Yamauchi talk about a plan that they've set up in conjunction with another student Hideo Sotomura to record and rank the cup sizes of the breasts of the girls in the class. After lunch, the swimming class begins, but some of the girls of the class foil Ike and Yamauchi's plan to rank their breast sizes because they are nervous around aggressive boys. While that unpleasantness was intentional, it kept me from connecting with their plight—and an aloof main character didn’t help. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka has landed at the bottom in the scorned Class D, where he meets Horikita Suzune, who’s determined to rise up the ladder to Class A. seeing how wrong the anime adaptation's perception of Ayanokoji's character made me wish i'd read this a long time ago. There would have been no point setting it in a school filled with exceptionally gifted children if it was just a microcosm of adult society.

The students there have the freedom to wear any hairstyle and bring any personal effects they desire. Hirata prompts the next student to introduce himself, and receives some backlash against the idea due to his aggressive nature. Horikita states that she's lost interest in teaching them further as she sees it as a hassle to teach them anything moving forward. At its core, it’s a story about unsympathetic victims who would normally never receive the help or guidance they actually need. She had noticed that the Idiot Trio refused to join the study group created by Hirata, and wants Kiyotaka to get them to join a study group created by her instead so that Class D could pass the midterm exams and potentially raise their class points.

Just when you think the Sudou matter has been resolved, volume 2 opens with him getting into trouble again.
