About this deal

Sterilises from just 2 minutes in the microwave or Sterilise in 15 minutes with cold water with sterilising tablets or fluid. The steriliser instructions were very easy to follow and understand for both the cold water part and the microwave part. This really could be a life saver when you have a baby screaming for a bottle especially as it only takes a couple of minutes to sterilise. The only thing that could potentially change is the lid, which is sometimes a bit tricky to get on and off the bottle. It says there is no need rinse before drinking, but I wouldn’t want to drink out of it knowing there was residue still there.

I don't like the smell of sterilising tablets and don't want to have to take my big microwave steriliser away with me when I go away for a few days - I have enough baby things I have to take as it is!

e. any bottle but the extra-large Dr Brown’s, and also managed to fit all her breast pump parts in it easily (separately, not at the same time). Having to unpack a big bulky steriliser to do one bottle a day was annoying so when this arrived on my doorstep it was fab! It might not come with any extras and, of course, it’s less capacious than a full-sized steriliser (see our round-up of the best sterilisers) – but for all that the Milton Solo is surprisingly flexible, roomy and designed with a number of useful features, which elevated it well above the other travel models we tested, like the Tommee Tippee 2-in-1 and the ClevaMama Soother Tree. There are markings on the side showing the correct water level for cold water sterilisation, although none for microwaving, and our tester felt that would have been a useful addition.

If you do require precise ingredient information you should consult the manufacturer, whose contact details will appear on the packaging or label. Place the travel steriliser upright in the microwave if it fits that way, if not the place it on its side and microwave it for the instructed amount of time which it states on the box and on the leaflet. Its compact size, high-quality construction, and user-friendly features make it an excellent choice for parents seeking a portable sterilizer. I would recommend the Milton Solo Travel Steriliser to mums whether you are needing to sterilise a bottle, soothers or other small items that need sterilising.

Very handy to have and easy to use and great that the bottle last sterilised for 24 hours if unopened. The Sterilising Unit has a lockable lid to help keep the items safe, and a carry handle for when mum or dad wants to move it around the kitchen, or take it out of home. It would be ideal for those who go camping, for example, because it gives families more time with each other as there is less time spent in the kitchen.

Once the sterilized equipment is taken out of the fluid and put in a baby changing bag for example, our solution is to use the Solo. After breastfeeding my daughter for a few months, we decided to try giving her a bottle or two a day. It fits only one bottle and teat (not the bottle cap) and requires a quarter of a Milton tablet for the sterilisation process, which is fine, except the tablets don’t snap along the lines (annoying! However, it is worth remembering that the product is intended as a ‘solo steriliser’, presumably to save on space when travelling; there are other sterilisers on the market that would sterilise more than one bottle, if that’s your preference. I found it the perfect size for me and my baby as we mainly breastfeed and only occasionally use bottles, I could see how some mums who have more bottles to sterilise would prefer to have a bigger steriliser. Screw the lid on, press the safety vent down and gently shake the Milton Solo - the bottle will be ready for use in just 15 minutes and can stay in the solution until needed.

In summary, the Milton Solo Travel bottle sterilizer is a reliable and efficient accessory for sterilizing baby bottles.

It is ideal for going away as, if you don't have a microwave available, it can be used with just cold water and a sterilizing tablet. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. It’s roomier than the Tommee Tippee 2-in-1 Travel Steriliser, which we also tested, though not quite as capacious as the microwave steam steriliser bags, like the Medela Quick Clean Microwave Bags. For the cold water sterilising I would leave this overnight and then just rinse off the water and we were ready to go for our day out with clean bottle.
