About this deal

Oh, he was handsome as a pagan Norse god, but that was unimportant when her life as well as those of her family hung in the balance. Helena Reynolds crossed the floor of the crowded taproom, her carpetbag clutched in her trembling hands.

No doubt this is still a solid story and I'm obvs still highly anticipating the next one and will happily give all my money to her till the end of time. Proud Sir Jeffree, raised in the expectation of succeeding to his uncle’s title, is appalled to become ensnared in a scheme to discredit his uncle’s intended bride. I’m supposed to believe she has a strong will but she spends the book acting like this man’s lapdog and it’s pathetic. In a sea of fluttering pretty gowns she sat there all in black, like a crow sat among a crowd of doves.

I always enjoy Alice Coldbreath's storytelling (even though I skip all the intimate scenes) because she's really good at writing a grumpy hero with a kind heart. Orphaned and besieged Princess Alesandra knew that only hasty marriage to an Englishman could protect her from the turmoil in her own land. Alisander de Balon is the opposite, sort of a lean foppish man with a cutting wit and a heart of gold. Speaking of which, the blurb labels this a standalone novel, but other reviewers have said that this book should actually be read after the Vawdrey brothers series. She is the courageous seafaring captain of her own mighty fleet, and intelligent enough to win a battle of wits with Queen Elizabeth herself.

Their relationship is ruled by dominant/submissive roles without any physical pain, which I find just delicious. Also I think it has been edited down because it is not as long as the first ebook edition, so many of those problems look to be fixed on rerelease. Helena Reynolds will do anything to escape her life in London, even if that means traveling to a remote cliffside estate on the North Devon coast and marrying a complete stranger. I just love watching our big, strong obnoxious Hero learn to trust himself and his Little Lady Love as he transforms into a super spicy alpha hottie.

I agree the site has to make money, but I gently suggest that ads viewers are unable to close may not be the way to do it. With dreams of a great romantic love, Abigail Carrington sails to England to marry the man she has loved since childhood, Michael Ingram, Marquis of Darfield. The Duke of Huntington has no interest in an eccentric redhead who frowns at him over her spectacles…until he realizes that she is the only possible duchess for him. It’s a bit of a small detail, but the blurb says Aimee is the oldest daughter, which contradicts what the book says. Audiobooks are my primary means of reading books, so I was thrilled when this and the most recent Prizefighter book dropped. The biggest problem was that for all that was written, I finished the book thinking Aimee was really kinda boring and didn't really develop.

On the upside this has made me want to go back and re-read Lenora/Garman's story, Fenella/Oswald's story, and Linette/Mason's story. Abandoned by the fiancée he adored, the man who once walked like a prince among London's elite secludes himself in his family's mansion, cursing his way through dark days and darker nights.

I felt that maybe that time could've instead been used to show more of Aimee and Konrad genuinely getting to know each other. The Favourite is a stand-alone novel of over 143,000 words and is set in a medieval style landscape in the fictional kingdom of Karadok. All we get from Konrad is him having sex with her, but I felt like whereas the previous love interests/men main characters were rough, they had so much care and love for their heroines. Konrad thought at first that he was supposed to marry Ursula (Aimee’s older sister), and after he realises that it’s Aimee at the alter, he believes they swapped for some reason and is under the impression Aimee wanted to marry Renlow (the man her sister married).
