About this deal

The company explained that the name was originally chosen to pay homage to its CEO’s grandfather, who referred to the beer almost exclusively as such and never as shorthand for ‘necking’. The company stated that the name ‘neck oil’ incorporated the noun ‘neck’ and did not encourage the act of necking beer in quantity. The Panel noted that there were no visual or text cues to encourage irresponsible or “down in one” consumption and accordingly did not uphold the product under Code Rules 3.

While this does not bring spectacular flavour levels, that slightly creamier body means that it has a lot more leeway in how it brings its flavours. We have worked with our friends across the beer industry for nearly two decades, sourcing world-class craft beer from all around the globe and delivering it direct to people's doors. The light and zingy taste of Neck Oil Session IPA is the perfect place to start your craft beer journey. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. A drink, its packaging and any promotional material should not in any direct or indirect way urge the consumer to drink rapidly or to ‘down’ a product in one.

We can organise a collection for the incorrect items, but if you would like to keep the item that you have received, we may ask for payment of the products, depending on the products you have received. The company explained that the beer label had the same layout as Gamma Ray, which had previously been considered by the Panel in 2015, and that it complied with EU food labelling regulations in the same way and made it clear that the product was alcoholic. In response to the complainant’s assertion that the product encouraged irresponsible consumption, the company stated that there was no imagery on the can that could be taken as a cue to drink the product immoderately. A drink, its packaging and any promotional material or activity should not in any direct or indirect way encourage illegal, irresponsible or immoderate consumption, such as drink-driving, binge-drinking or drunkenness. Further to this, the company stated that it only supplied its beers to the specialist craft beer network and to high street outlets known to operate at a high ethical level, and those that implemented the Challenge 25 policy (i.The brewery was established in 2011 and Logan was the genius behind the brewing, just like the majority of most brewers you have to start off small. The name Neck Oil comes from our founder Logan fondly remembering his grandad stating he was off down the pub to ‘oil his neck’ with a pint.

It is crammed full of hops that are added a different times during the brew to bring out their individual flavours while reducing the bitterness. The most surprising part of the beer though was the colour, the former Neck Oil was a deep brown bitter and was mainly found on handpumps around many pubs in the West Midlands. Whilst not strictly a brewery the team behind Brew Day have been keen home brewers and drinkers for longer than they care to remember. In addition to this, the company highlighted the fact that the illustrations were of a similar nature to Gamma Ray which the Panel had ruled were adult in nature.I am very keen now to go back to Sainsbury’s or any other supermarket when it’s safe and just find out what other Beavertown Brewery beers are available. The company refuted the complainant’s assertion that the product could have a particular appeal to under-18s and stated that it was not designed to appeal to tweens, youths, or an irresponsible beer-drinking demographic. As always excellent instructions, and good ingredients list enabling it to be entered into “Brewfather or Grainfather apps”. The company stated that the colour palette followed the corporate, award winning and well-established company brand that consumers were familiar with.

It’s a super session IPA, so it’s super low on the booze while still tasting totally out-of-this-world and has 86 calories per can – easy sippin’ any time. Craft icon Beavertown has been loved by the UK craft beer scene since it sprang into life in the basement of the Duke's Brew and Que pub back in 2011. A beer that you know you can pick up and appreciate or simply kick back, relax and oil your neck with (the name Neck Oil comes from their founder, Logan, fondly remembering his Grandad stating that he was “off down the pub for a pint of neck oil”). What we offer isn’t available anywhere else in our corner of Walthamstow, whether it’s simple wines for the everyday table, great bottles for those special occasions, or craft beers and selected spirits for everything in between. Logan exactly did this and started his home brewing by using a 50-litre rice pan as a hot liquor tank a camping cool box as a mash tun and finally a tea urn as a kettle. From the IPA’s that were created to travel the seas to British colonies, to the porters enjoyed by 19th century transportation workers of London, it’s clear that England has a diverse history of beer production. Most of you are probably looking at that beer and thinking it looks more like a lager, it’s definitely a beer everyone and it’s amazing and it always will be!
