The Cooler Master MasterBox NR200P MAX arrived via UPS Standard from Cooler Master's offices in Brea, California, USA. Small but mighty, the Cooler Master Masterbox NR200P offers unlimited options in a space-efficient form factor.
Built for easy customisation, the NR200P can be dismantled all the way down to its modular elements. Well, Cooler Master has other ideas because we've been sent a new, updated version of the MasterBox NR200P and this time Cooler Master isn’t playing around.At idle the system is whisper-quiet, we didn’t measure idle noise levels as it was below our noise floor range so impossible to measure. The motherboard tray sits lower down in the chassis to allow for the roof-mounted AIO and there is limited space for floor-mounted fans. Now, as a full-time PCMag analyst, I'm focusing on reviewing processors and graphics cards while dabbling in all other things PC-related. Every feature in the NR200P is thoughtfully laid out in an 18-liter space to maximise component compatibility, thermal efficiency, and ease of assembly.

Cynics amongst us (me included) will probably think this is just an NR200P with a 280mm AIO and power supply pre-installed. But at the time of writing, I didn’t have an original NR200P on hand, maybe we will save that one for another day. If your card is more than two card slots thick, however, you’ll need to install it in the regular horizontal orientation instead. It is worth noting that even though Cooler Master states that only slim 15mm thick fans can be installed on the chassis floor.

The MasterBox NR200P Color variant, though, is much more interesting, as it's available in four color schemes: Flamingo Pink, Caribbean Blue, Sunset Orange, and Nightshade Purple. Building a small form factor system inside the NR200P Max is simplified due to the pre-installed AIO and PSU, meaning cables and tubing are pre-routed saving the installer time. In that time, I've reviewed desktops, PC cases, and motherboards as a freelancer, while also producing deals content for the site and its sibling ExtremeTech. This means that for a basic system, all you need to do is toss in a motherboard with CPU, RAM sticks, and a solid-state drive (and maybe a graphics card), and you're good to go.
The ML280 Mirror has a more premium look, with snazzy addressable RGB (aRGB) lighting, while the NR200P Max's cooler has no lights, but it's the closest we could find. Right out of the box, all three of these are steel, as well, but you also get an optional tempered-glass side panel that can be installed on the left. I've always sought to learn as much as possible about anything PC, leading to a well-rounded grasp on all things tech today. The Max's simplified building experience is derived from its preinstalled components and the removal of the side mounting bracket, but if you add it up, you pay a lot for the easier building experience. As well as the cable length, the AIO tubing is the exact length needed to route around the power supply and to the motherboard CPU socket.Triple slot GPUs supports a maximum length of 330mm and maximum width of 156mm, fitting the largest, high-end graphics cards. MAX systems are Cooler Master's ready-to-go solution for PC enthusiasts who are looking to max out their PC performance. This is in large part due to the inclusion of preinstalled parts and the lack of brackets and obstacles when inserting components.
