Would there be any limiting factor in using this cable/configuration, instead of a PSU with an actual 12VHPWR connector on the PSU that CAN communicatie between GPU and PSU? I remember seeing someone on YouTube with one that had a screen with wattage on it that was kind of cool. Otherwise this (Corsair cable) type of connection would in practice be exactly the same as PSU's with a native socket. PCBOOST expressly disclaims any damage caused by or attributed to use of this cable with any power supplies that are not certified for use with this cables. The Phanteks adapter cable does this by drawing from two 8-pin outputs of your power supply and delivering it through a single connection to the GPU.
