About this deal

Inspections will complement self-evaluation and improvement processes, and will align with national priorities. We will keep our commitment to the personalised assessments which support all learners in Wales to progress in reading and numeracy, in whichever language they are learning. Together, these are combined alongside their academic and pastoral curriculum and plotted in The Chorlton Curriculum: PSMSCP Provision. We will support this by updating guidance so that schools can be fully engaged with local businesses, charities, clubs, public services and others to develop an understanding of cynefin and the four purposes of the curriculum.

P6 is very popular and attended by students from Year 7 to Year 11 with resources and support from staff.

Expert staff, exciting learning and a huge range of extracurricular opportunities help our students become resilient learners, expert readers, knowledge explorers and responsible citizens who aim high and can shape the future. Have met with our impartial careers advisor as part of a group and/or as an individual to discuss future plans and leaving prospects. Alternatively, others are used as more extended methods of tracking and supporting pupil progress over many months. For example, mastery learning approaches combine feedback with additional support for pupils that are falling behind, while approaches like formative assessment also include work to understand specific gaps in learning that need to be addressed and how the teacher wants the pupil to progress. What gaps are there in the existing literature in relation to: (a) discipline specific pedagogies that are not widely evaluated and for which there is a strong prima facie case that they are high impact; (b) the scope for the existing evidence bases to be further strengthened and developed.A new national bilingual education resources company, Adnodd, will be established to work across different sectors to ensure Welsh and English resources are identified, commissioned and available to support all aspects of the curriculum. The report includes ten case studies drawn from the literature review to exemplify how high-impact pedagogies across the four main discipline areas were being used within specific disciplines. At the beginning of 2023, St John’s embarked on a two year journey towards becoming a High Performing School.
