Despite being childless myself, I really enjoyed this account of Taylor's experiences when pregnant and her life as she adjusts to being a mother. My delight when I leave her at nursery and walk away humming George Michael’s ‘Freedom’ as I cross the road without having to wait for the green man, is only bettered by the delight I experience when I pick her up again at the end of the day. Ellie relates her trauma in her memoir My Child and Other Mistakes, a book that manages to make you laugh out loud, despite the clear trauma of those early years.
