About this deal

Having to deal with so many horrible men in her life only kind of makes up for some of her absolutely asinine behaviors or words. Now after so many years , she is finally able to achieve her goal and has got admission into the best dance academy ever. Here we have that classic drama, that i personally hate, were the heroine and the heroes were friends when younger and started liking each other, but something happens that breaks them apart, and both parts blame and hate each other. This book had everything you want , the angst that breaks your heart in the right way , the pain that makes you feel so much and the vulnerable scenes that you want to capture and keep with you forever! If you love dance, your men on the criminal side, alpha hot holes, and the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope, this is for you.

If you are looking for a new and exciting series to start that is intriguing, different and spicy – then pick this one up for sure. It’s more that I had issue with the stupid manipulations that get the group into the mess that leads to a separation between them all for a few years.I know the basics of dance, but I did feel like it took me a while to understand what was happening during the dance scenes.

Rather than sense off the chart hormones between them like I wanted, all I felt was each barb as word by word they made everything worse. This is described beautifully with only a few things being revealed at a time, leaving the reader in a perfect place of knowing nothing but having all the guesses. It kept me entertained, it was fun, it was intriguing, it was mysterious, I loved the plot and I loved the characters. Is it so hard to say "i'm sorry but my sick brother who is in love with me threatened to kill my little sister if i don't stay away from you guys, so i hope you understand. I also really didn't care for the major villain being a closeted gay or bi man who acts cruelly towards Pen because she catches him with a man. Nothing could prepare you for the turns of events and the twist and turns that this book presents itself. Freestyle is book one of this new gritty, contemporary reverse harem academy trilogy for 17+ readers and deals with adult themes and some subjects you may find upsetting.

It’s dark, it includes a reverse harem and there are many triggers and content warnings that you will need to be aware of. Some of that is forgivable because this is the first book in a series and it makes sense to save things to reveal and develop in later books. I really don't like split timelines like this in romance because I feel like it breaks up the flow of the story and I usually enjoy one timeline more than the other. They are loyal to a fault, possessive, protective, funny, loving, mysterious, sexy dancing bad boys. The actual writing was as if I was reading a 15 year old's shitty fanfiction about some high school musical wannabe gangster drama. While I wanted more of a dance school drama this is that plus a whole lot of gang activity as the future harem are part of it as is the heroines brother and sadly they’re all dragged in. I know it needs to be like that for the story but I just prefer it when it’s all squished at the front so I can get on with the present. In a way with these flashbacks, I felt even closer to these characters as you got given an insight to each of their life’s, you got to how it changed them and made them into the boys who turned into men real quickly, we also got the front row seat of when feelings started to get blurred and crossed the line. They can't just own up to mistakes they make, or maybe admit not knowing the full in's and out's of the truth.

Actually, I’m fairly sure I’m a born again virgin, and my hymen has grown back for all the lack of use.Yes, the author provided flashbacks when they were together, year through year, from they first met to their last days. As I said the first book in the series Freestyle begins with the protagonist’s, Penelope or Pen, audition for a chance at a new life, at a dance school. Not to mention, Bea so carefully sketches the emotional architecture of Pen to each guy- carefully constructed so that each relationship feels not only intimate and fully realized but also fundamental to the bones of these characters, and fundamental to the crew.
