The story is exhilarating and will keep you on your toes the entire time. With suspenseful pacing and thrilling revelation, the manga has the edge everyone wants from a horror series. With amazing scenes, the mangaka has put insane efforts into delicately drawing the expressions of its characters, which not only brings them alive but also adds the depth required of the story. Riho Yoshioka does the same thing. Her character feels so distant and strange as the story starts that it only makes you wonder what her deal is. As the story progresses, you realize that the entire family has been marked by some very dark events, and they might be the only ones ready enough to face what is coming in Kuge Village. The acting is very good overall. There is usually over-the-top acting that is a signature of Japanese productions, but at this point, many westerners should feel accustomed to this type of performance. i cannot recommend this drama enough. the pacing was great as the story slowly unveils itself. i was hooked from beginning to end. i also have never seen an jdrama that utilized a festival / folklore setting.

When you hear that Disney Plus is about to debut a Japanese TV series about cannibals, you will probably raise a brow, only to realize that Disney Plus is a very different entity outside of America. The streaming service has basically combined Hulu, and other services into itself, so it is more than just a place to watch the latest Marvel film or rewatch Hannah Montana for the eleventh time. In other territories, Disney Plus is actually a very good and diverse streaming service. Gannibal is just the latest to arrive at Hulu here and in America, and on Disney Plus in other territories. The main character, Daigo is not your typical nice guy main character which makes this drama more interesting to watch. His adrenaline chasing and super righteous mindset makes him become the target of the the village who wishes to hide certain secrets and enforce their traditional way of living. I am extremely impressed with both Yagira Yuya who plays Daigo and Kasamatsu Sho who plays Keisuke. Every single character in the drama did a splendid job portraying the pain they are dealing with and the high stakes that await their choices. As for the main character, he is actually a respectable guy that works as a lone wolf police officer in the village. He's not some gutless coward that runs away and he dives head first into dangerous territory while still being fearful of what awaits him. on facial expressions and I appreciate the way they drew the "darker" scenes. This gives the manga so much more of a horror feel to it. The story itself is very suspenseful and engaging, it's not every day when a manga makes you read all of it's chapters in one sitting.
