About this deal

We offer a varied selection of new drivers, ranging from an imported, more cost effective range to the top branded manufacturers, with some excellent brands in between.

A selection of spares including, crossovers, diaphragms and selected re-cone kits are also available, as well as a full range of drivers and components from some of the finest loud speaker cabinet manufacturers, including Aaron B, Coaxial speakers are 2-way speakers mounted on the same “axis” or in the same speaker assembly. Most coaxial speakers provide a full range cone and add a separate tweeter with crossover for improved sound fidelity & frequency response versus a standard single cone speaker. In fact, if you were to use a test meter to measure the Ohms (impedance) of the voice coil on a speaker, you’d find a reading of about 3.2-3.6 ohms or so for a 4 ohm speaker and 6 ohms or higher for an 8 ohm speaker.Speaker terminals & braided wire: speaker terminals are metal tabs or connectors that connect speaker wire to the speaker. These connect to the voice coil using a flexible braided wire that moves with the cone.

The speaker cone is supported within a specially designed surround or support. The ideal surround has a linear force-deflection curve with damping capability sufficient to absorb all vibrations within the unit. Also, this component must be strong enough to withstand the long-term stress of millions of vibrations without damage. The cone should also have self-damping attributes that minimize unwanted self-resonance and distortion. Principal Attributes of Loudspeaker Cones Make sure you have the correct sound source selected on your phone or computer. For example, make sure you are not connected to a Bluetooth headset or speakers.

Drivers are essential to a speaker, it is through the driver that any sound can effectively reach your ears, thus sometimes customers do not need a brand new speaker but merely only need a set of replacement woofers. This is where our range of replacement midrange speakers/drivers come in handy for those looking to revitalise or upgrade their existing speaker system. There is not a driver currently in existence which can comfortably handle a full range of frequencies all alone which is why woofers, midrange drivers and tweeters all have an important job to do. Sensitivity varies from speaker to speaker, with tweeters being more efficient (producing more sound at the same power level) than others. Subwoofers are less efficient as they need more power to move the heavy cone and create sound.

The speaker cone and its surround element are generally molded as a single unit prior to the speaker assembly. This provides for minimal acoustical breakup and ensures accurate sound reproduction. Our selection of Speaker Drivers here are all the classic conical type, although other types such as speaker tweeters and horns are also available in our store. The replacement woofers are built to accentuate the low end of your music, providing a way to hear bass frequencies clearer. You'll also find a selection of replacement midrange speakers (most known as "drivers") designed for the augmentation and customisation of existing PA speakers or similar. Buy Speaker Drivers Upgrading cheaper systems with better quality woofer and tweeter units can give them a new lease of life for much less cost than buying new equipment. Passive and active crossover units are available for both internal and external use, be it as replacements in a system, or as a new feature you are including as an upgrade. Power handling is also a factor, as both have far more flexible loading capabilities compared to a dome type which is restricted by the dimensions and material construct of its driver. Speaker Parts You’ll most often find subwoofers that are available in a dual voice coil version for a little bit more money. Speaker cones made of paper, polypropylene and aramid fibers. Cones frequently use special formulas of thermoplastic resins blended with aramid fibers during the injection molding process.

F cones are made of high-quality flax fibers core enclosed by two thin layers of glass fiber. They satisfy the key criteria of a high performance diaphragm : high internal damping, high velocity of sound and high flexural rigidity. way crossovers use electrical components to filter and split the electrical music signal from an amplifier or stereo and divide it between the tweeter and woofer, resulting in better sound. Make sure the exposed parts of the two magnet wires are not touching each other. This will create a short circuit.Since the job of the speaker cone is to essentially take the vibrations from the speaker’s voice coil and turn them into audible sounds for your listening pleasure, it is extremely important that the speaker cone should be able to accurately reproduce those vibrations without distorting. For this reason, even-tempered and consistent materials are required; in a perfect world, a speaker cone should be very rigid and durable, but also lightweight and capable of starting and stopping vibrations on a dime. An A-B comparison with a paper-cone speaker reveals another interesting difference: the polystyrene's superior rigidity and lower mass allow it to reproduce more of the program's dynamic range, because so much less of the voice-coil's movement is lost in flexure of the polystyrene cone. Research into the full possibilities of other cone materials was not, however, the kind of project that the average speaker manufacturer could undertake. Most of them had been buying their cones and magnets ready-made for assembly, from the few suppliers of such items in the USA and Great Britain. So the initial research into new cone materials was done by the large speaker manufacturing outfits.
